UNION RESCUE MISSION RECEIVES $15,000 DOLLAR GRANT FROM BANK OF AMERICA TO HELP PEOPLE EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS

LOS ANGELES, CALIF. (June 2017) — – Union Rescue Mission (URM) announced today that it has received a $15,000 dollar grant from Bank of America to support the nonprofit’s programs and services geared toward people experiencing homelessness. The current Los Angeles Homeless Service Authority (LAHSA) report states that more than 58,000 people live on the streets in Los Angeles County, up by 23 percent from the last report. Due to this increase, URM is stepping up to serve 55 percent more people than usual.

We treasure the partnership that Bank of America has with Union Rescue Mission,” said Reverend Andy Bales CEO of Union Rescue Mission. “This grant will ensure we can continue to rescue more precious people from the streets of Los Angeles. Our city is in a crisis and partners like Bank of America are vital.”

“Bank of America is proud to team up with Union Rescue Mission to help alleviate the ever-growing homelessness problem in greater Los Angeles,” said Raul A. Anaya, Los Angeles market president, Bank of America. “Through partnerships like these, we’re able to address basic needs and help people regain their footing and create a path to financial and economic stability.”
