When he was growing up, the most important person in James' life was his grandpa.
But when James was 11, his grandpa passed away. Having lost his anchor, James was suddenly cast adrift. He started rebelling, and by age 14, James was addicted to cocaine, ecstasy, and crystal meth.
By 20, James had become a father. But James couldn't break the grip of addiction. The darkest day of James' life was when his kids were taken away.
That's when James turned to Union Rescue Mission.
"I was tired, hungry, and I wanted to get clean, for my kids," says James.
