STORIES FROM SKID ROW

This month we wanted to share Nicole’s Story.

“I have been going through a custody case with my daughter, and I must say, it has been one of the most challenging periods of my life. If it weren’t for God, and the program at Hope Gardens, I don’t think I would have been able to break the cycle of homelessness and be able to take care of my daughter. I graduated from the program and am eternally grateful to everyone who helped me along the way.

My journey began when I turned to the word of God while incarcerated, and all I would ever hear is “be still, my child.”

At first, I didn’t understand what that meant. But I learned that God was always there, even when I couldn’t see Him. And I believe that kept me going through the most challenging times.

As I move forward, I am filled with a sense of hope and gratitude. I know that I have the strength to break the cycle of homelessness, and now I am committed to doing everything in my power to create a better life for my daughter.”

Dear friend, we can’t do this life-changing work alone. With your help, we’ve been able to step up like never before in our history, serving precious men, women, and children every night, and we never turn away a family with children or a woman who comes to our door.

We could not do this life-saving, life-changing work without you.

Thank you,

Andy Bales
