Devotional: 12/20

With four days to go before the big event, I want to incorporate two latter day prophets of the Old Testament as they not only foresaw Jesus, but the details of the dark, dreary, desolate day of His crucifixion, and though predicted 100’s of years in advance, proved absolutely accurate;

Daniel 9:26 (ESV)
And after the sixty-two weeks, an anointed one shall be cut off and shall have nothing. And the people of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. Its end shall come with a flood, and to the end there shall be war. Desolations are decreed.

Amos 8:9 (ESV)
"And on that day," declares the Lord God, "I will make the sun go down at noon and darken the earth in broad daylight.

Daniel shares something very interesting, that those who killed Christ and destroyed the city and the sanctuary are the people of the prince who is to come (Satan). I don’t know about you, but I want to be part of the people of God, and not Satan. I want to be lifting up the name of Jesus Christ, making Him known to the world, and rather than bringing darkness on the world this Christmas, I want to bring the light and the good news of Jesus Christ. How can you bring the light of Christ and make it evident this coming Christmas?
