Day 37 — Betrayal Sent
Matthew 26:14-16 (ESV)
Then one of the twelve, whose name was Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests and said, “What will you give me if I deliver him over to you?” And they paid him thirty pieces of silver. And from that moment he sought an opportunity to betray him.
Have you ever had a loved one betray you? It not only feels like a knife in the back, but you can even feel that little twist as they stick it in. Am I right? There is probably nothing more painful. Jesus, the Lord of the Universe, experienced everything that we experience in this life, even the betrayal of a close friend. Yet it would not stop him from moving ahead with his plan, to not only forgive Judas for his betrayal, but to die on the cross for all of our sins and betrayals.
Lord, help me to find ways to honor you each day rather than look for opportunities to betray you.
