Day 28 –Is Your Heart Ready?

As I shared yesterday, when Jesus does return there will be no doubt or question of his return. The sun will be darkened, the moon will not give its light, stars will fall from the heavens, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken! I can’t, and most Bible commentators could not, begin to describe what will occur on that day.

Matthew 24:29-31 (ESV)
“Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. “

What jumps out at me is that all of the earth will mourn. Why will the whole earth mourn? It will be a visible, terrifying day for all. Remember back when the Israelites asked Moses to beg God not to speak with his thunderous voice from the mountain? It will be that kind of amazing and terrifying! When Jesus returns, in all his glory, will your heart be ready?
