STORIES FROM SKID ROW

This month we wanted to share Tannons’ Restoration story.

“My own family and I experienced homelessness and the struggles that come with it. We lived in our car for six months, showering wherever we could and panhandling for money. There were times when I felt hopeless as a father and provider, but with the help of Union Rescue Mission, we have been able to turn our lives around. We have been provided with resources such as daycare for my kids, a safe place to shower, wash our clothes, and eat, and a case manager who has been helping us with everything we need. My goal now is to be employed and take care of my credit so that we can find a permanent place to call home.

Union Rescue Mission has been a lifesaver for my family and many others. However, we need more resources to help the growing number of families in need. We need more Angela’s Houses, Hope Gardens, and Union Rescue Missions to provide safe and healthy places for families to transform their lives.

I hope that my story can inspire others who may be going through a similar situation. With the help of Union Rescue Mission and people like you, we can make a difference in the lives of families experiencing homelessness.”

As you may know, the crisis of homelessness in Los Angeles is bigger than ever before. Family homelessness has seen the greatest growth. There are families living in their cars, parks, and even tents.

At Union Rescue Mission, we are at full capacity and it is challenging to keep up with the growing need but we get encouraged and inspired when we see God’s transforming power in these precious Families.
And we get inspired when we see so many people like you step up and give of their time, energy and financial support..

We could not do this life-saving life changing work without you.

Thank you for your continued generosity.

Best regards,

Andy Bales
