IT’S TURKEY FRY DAY AT UNION RESCUE MISSION!!!
LOS ANGELES CALIF. (November 2024) Union Rescue Mission (URM) will overwhelm the streets of Skid Row with the amazing aroma of 300 deep-fried turkeys in preparation to serve thousands of people devastated by homelessness at our annual Thanksgiving Event. Union Rescue Mission’s new CEO, Mark Hood says, “We will be deep frying 300 turkeys beginning at 8am sharp on Friday, November 22nd on the streets of Skid Row all in preparation so our guests and friends can join us at Union Rescue Mission for a delicious home cooked meal in celebration of Thanksgiving on Saturday, November 23rd from 11:00a.m. to 4:00p.m. We have so much to celebrate and be thankful for this year as generous friends have once again stepped up to make sure we can welcome everyone who comes to our doors. About URM’s Hope Gardens Family Center
Nestled in the foothills of the Angeles national forest, HGFC offers a peaceful setting and transitional living to moms, children, a number of single women and permanent supportive housing to senior women. In addition to food and shelter, HGFC offers the real help women need to escape homelessness forever, long-term rehabilitation programs, job training, counseling, training and encouragement.
About URM’s Angeles House
Located in South Los Angeles, Angeles House offers transitional bridge housing for up to 86 local families experiencing homelessness. During their transitional stay, we offer food, shelter, clean living spaces, assistance with resources for jobs and housing, on-site child-care, school tutoring with School on Wheels, medical and dental clinics, and Christian/mental health counseling. While at Angeles House our guests will be provided with a safe, supportive environment assuring them that we are here to help each step of the way home.
